About the role
Responsibilities Architect, build, and ship production full-stack TypeScript web applications Design and own back-end services, APIs, and third-party integrations Deploy, operate, and monitor applications on Google Cloud or AWS Own product areas end to end, from discovery through ongoing improvement Partner with creative, production, and operations teams on workflows Integrate AI capabilities into the applications you build Set the technical bar for code review, testing, and best practices Serve as technical lead on select client web projects Requirements 8+ years professional software engineering experience 5+ years production TypeScript/JavaScript as primary language Expert TypeScript, including advanced types and strict-mode codebases Deep Node.js experience building production HTTP APIs and services Deep React experience and production Next.js experience Hands-on Google Cloud Platform or AWS deployment and operation Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and environment/secrets management Strong SQL (PostgreSQL or similar) and document database knowledge Unit, integration, and end-to-end testing as a normal part of shipping Clear communication with engineers and non-technical stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi, or AWS CDK) Internal tools or creative productivity platform experience Plugin development for creative tools such as Figma or Adobe UXP Experience with LLM APIs, AI agents, or AI-powered features Agency, studio, or creatively driven environment experience About the Company Hook is an award-winning creative content agency producing ads, campaigns, and experiences for innovative brands.
