About the role
Responsibilities Write robust, efficient, scalable backend code primarily in Java Design, develop, document and consume REST APIs for internal microservices, frontend apps and partners Write and optimize complex SQL queries on relational databases such as MySQL Manage version control with Git and GitHub, including code reviews Contribute to modernizing architecture and scaling services Requirements 5+ years professional enterprise Java development Strong SQL and relational database design (MySQL) Proven experience building and consuming RESTful web services Solid Git and GitHub workflows Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field Preferred Qualifications Experience deploying and monitoring applications on GCP Experience with BigQuery and dbt Experience transitioning legacy Java/Tomcat/MySQL stacks to cloud-native setups Familiarity with AI productivity and coding tools About the Company BarkleyOKRP is a B Corp building inclusive creativity and marketing work with a focus on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
